Q: Which battery brand is best?

No single brand suits every home. We install Sigenergy, GoodWe, Tesla, Alpha ESS, Fox ESS, Fronius, SolarEdge, Solax and Sungrow. The right choice depends on how much storage you need, whether you want an EV charger built in, your existing inverter and your budget. We can quote two options side by side.

Q: Does solar still work in a Perth winter?

Yes, but it makes less. Daylight drops to about 10 hours in June and the sun sits lower, so a system can make roughly half what it makes in January. We design around the whole year, not just summer, and show you a monthly estimate on your quote.

Rebates, loans and what WA pays for exports

Prices depend on the system size, your roof, the battery and your switchboard, so we quote after a site check. These schemes bring the cost down for Burns Beach households.

~30% off

Cheaper Home Batteries Program

An upfront discount of around 30%, delivered through small-scale technology certificates (STCs). It covers batteries from 5 kWh to 100 kWh.

Since 1 May 2026 the first 14 kWh earns the full rate, the next 14 kWh earns 60% and the next 22 kWh earns 15%. The rate drops again on 1 January 2027, and your rate is locked in on the day we install.

Up to $1,300

WA Residential Battery Scheme

A rebate of up to $1,300 for Synergy customers. Eligible households under $210,000 income can also take a no-interest loan of up to $10,000 over up to 10 years.

The catch: you must join a Virtual Power Plant, which lets the grid draw on your battery at set times.

10c vs 2c

Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme

Synergy customers on the South West grid are paid 10 c/kWh for exports between 3pm and 9pm and 2 c/kWh at other times (rates from 1 July 2026, excluding GST).

Retail power costs roughly 32 c/kWh. Using your own stored power, and exporting in the evening, is worth more than exporting at midday.

Solar systems also get the federal STC discount (SRES) upfront, which steps down each year to 2030. Rebate and tariff details are correct at October 2026 and change over time. We confirm what applies to you on your quote.

Before you buy

What we tell every customer in Burns Beach

Bigger is not always better

Extra panels mostly add midday export, which DEBS pays at 2c. Past a point, more panels add little to your savings. We size the system to what your household actually uses.

A solar or battery install often turns up electrical work. Older Perth homes may still have ceramic fuses, or a switchboard with no space for new circuits. A battery, EV charger or induction cooktop can push an old board past what it was built for.

DMG Solar is a licensed electrical contractor, so you do not need a second trade. We check your switchboard at the site visit. If it needs an upgrade, we put it on the same quote and do it on the same job.

The company were excellent at communicating the installation dates and times and sent emails about rebates and claim forms. Carl (lead/electrician) and the team were brilliant on site. He arrived before everyone else, answered all my questions regarding the install, informed me about the system that was going in, what app to download and showed me how it all worked.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently had a GoodWe 10 kW hybrid inverter, 24 kWh battery and 11 extra Trina panels installed by DMG Solar, and I can’t recommend Leon highly enough.

I got several quotes and did a lot of my own number-crunching, and Leon was patient and straight with me the whole way through. When I came back with my actual bills and questions about the REBS-to-DEBS changeover, export limits and VPP requirements, he gave clear, honest answers rather than a sales pitch. He was even happy to talk me through a smaller, cheaper option when that looked like it might suit us better.

What stood out was how well he tailored the system to our household. He took into account our new 12 kW air conditioner, our plan to get an EV in a couple of years and our existing east and west panels, and explained why west-facing panels and a 10 kW inverter made sense for our afternoon and evening usage. The result is a system that suits us now and leaves room to grow.

The pricing was competitive and clearly itemised, and Leon worked hard to get us the best deal, including essential-circuit blackout protection.

The installation team were punctual, cleaned up after themselves , tidy and walked me through the app and settings at handover.

Nothing was to much trouble for the team, they all had a can do attitude (incuding the sales team) which is a bit rare these days. 100% worth spending the money with DMG. Our place was a bit different, we had companies tell us our property was going to be too difficult and didn't even quote, others wanted to completely re-wire to the three buildings!! DMG said no issue at all, sent a proposal within a couple of days and completed the install inside a week of approval.
