GoodWe ESA home battery, installed across Perth
GoodWe ESA battery installation in Perth
The GoodWe ESA moves your surplus solar into the evening, when you actually use it.
DMG Solar fits the ESA across Perth, from our base in Southern River.

What it is
Hybrid inverter and battery modules, pre-wired as one system
Module size
9 kWh rated, up to six per stack
Inverters we fit
5 and 10 kW single phase, 15 kW three phase
Warranty
10 years on the product and on our installation
What it is and why we fit it
One system, not three separate boxes
The GoodWe ESA combines a hybrid inverter, battery modules and the energy management software in one pre-wired unit. The battery chemistry is lithium iron phosphate, which is now the standard across most major home battery brands. Here is why we choose it for Perth homes.

Less wiring on site
The modules arrive pre-wired. GoodWe says this cuts installation time by up to 50%. For you, that means less time with the power off and fewer joins on site. Most home battery installs we do finish in one day.
Built for the evening peak
Each 9 kWh module can deliver 8.85 kW continuously, so it can run the oven, the air conditioner and the dishwasher at 6pm together. The inverter sets the ceiling for the whole system, so we match a 5, 10 or 15 kW inverter to your evening load.

Add modules later
A single phase stack takes up to six modules, from 5 to 48 kWh. Each module is rated at 5.12 or 8.32 kWh. If your household changes, you add a module instead of replacing the system.
Covers three phase homes
Three phase homes spread their load across three lines into the house. The three phase ESA does the same. We fitted a 15 kW three phase ESA with 34.2 kWh of storage in Jindalee, and another 15 kW unit in Mount Pleasant.
Why it suits Perth
Heat, salt air and short winter days
Summer heat
Heatwaves past 40 degrees are normal here. GoodWe rates the ESA battery to discharge in temperatures up to 55 degrees.
The warranty also requires the battery to stay out of direct sunlight. We place it in a garage or on a shaded wall.
Salt air
The inverter carries an IP66 rating. That means it is sealed against dust and strong jets of water.
On the coast, we keep the battery out of the weather where the house allows. In Jindalee, the stack sits in the garage beside its isolators.
Winter evenings
From June to August, daylight drops to about 10 hours and most of the year's rain falls. Your panels generate less.
A battery sized for your best summer day will sit part empty in July. We size it to your overnight use instead.

What changes the cost
Rebates, loans and what WA pays for exports
Prices depend on your inverter, the number of modules and your switchboard, so we quote after a site check. These are the schemes that bring the cost down.
Cheaper Home Batteries Program
An upfront discount of around 30%, delivered through small-scale technology certificates (STCs). It covers batteries from 5 kWh to 100 kWh.
Since 1 May 2026 the first 14 kWh earns the full rate, the next 14 kWh earns 60% and the next 22 kWh earns 15%. The rate drops again on 1 January 2027, and your rate is locked in on the day we install.
WA Residential Battery Scheme
A rebate of up to $1,300 for Synergy customers. Eligible households under $210,000 income can also take a no-interest loan of up to $10,000 over up to 10 years.
The catch: you must join a Virtual Power Plant, which lets the grid draw on your battery at set times.
Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme
Synergy customers on the South West grid are paid 10 c/kWh for exports between 3pm and 9pm and 2 c/kWh at other times (rates from 1 July 2026, excluding GST).
Retail power costs roughly 32 c/kWh. Using your own stored power, and exporting in the evening, is worth more than exporting at midday.
Rebate and tariff details are correct at October 2026 and change over time. We confirm what applies to you on your quote.
We have two packages to get you started
Every package includes solar panels and a home battery, so you can use your own sunshine day and night. Pick the one that feels closest and we'll check it suits your home before you commit to anything.

Questions we hear
GoodWe ESA questions, answered
It depends on the inverter size, the number of modules, whether your home is single or three phase and what your switchboard needs. We quote after we look at your system, and the quote shows which incentives apply to you.
