Here’s What That Means for You
Choosing solar and battery for your home is one of the bigger investments you’ll make, and it can be hard to know which company to trust. There are plenty of installers out there, and not all of them do the right thing. That’s exactly why the New Energy Tech Consumer Code exists, and it’s why we’re proud to tell you that DMG Solar is an approved seller under it.
We became a NETCC signatory on 9 May 2025. Here’s what that accreditation is, and more importantly, what it means for you as a customer.

What is the NETCC?
The New Energy Tech Consumer Code (NETCC) is a national code of conduct for businesses that sell solar panels, battery storage, EV chargers and other new energy technology. It was designed by peak industry and consumer bodies working together since 2017, and it sets clear consumer protection standards for the entire buying journey, from the first conversation right through to after-sales support and warranty claims.
The code is administered by the NETCC program, and businesses that want to display the Approved Seller badge have to demonstrate they meet its standards. In October 2025 the program passed a milestone of more than 2,000 approved sellers across Australia. Being one of them isn’t automatic – a business has to apply, be assessed, and commit to the code before it’s approved.

What the accreditation actually covers
The NETCC standards aren’t vague promises. They cover specific commitments across every stage of the process, including:
- Honest advertising and sales. Clear, accurate and fair marketing, with no pressure-selling and extra care taken for anyone who may be vulnerable.
- Fit-for-purpose offers. We ask about your needs and your site so the system we recommend actually suits your home, rather than selling you something off a script.
- Clear quotes and contracts. Comprehensive quotes with an itemised list of inclusions, expected performance, a breakdown of costs, and your rights and obligations spelled out. No hidden costs.
- Transparent payments and finance. Complete information about your payment options up front.
- Safe delivery and installation. Work carried out on time and in line with safety regulations, manufacturers’ specifications and Australian Standards.
- Proper user information. The guidance you need to run your system safely and get the most out of it.
- Warranties honoured and complaints handled fairly. Guarantees and warranties met, service issues fixed promptly, and a clear path to independent complaints bodies if you’re ever not satisfied.
In short, the code holds us to a standard for how we treat you at every step, not just whether the panels go on the roof.

Why this matters when you’re choosing an installer
The solar industry has had its share of dodgy operators – fly-by-night companies that pressure people into a sale, disappear when something goes wrong, or leave customers chasing warranties that were never going to be honoured. The NETCC badge is a straightforward way to filter those out. If a business is an approved seller, you know it has committed to a recognised code and can be held accountable to it.
For you, that means:
- Less risk. You’re dealing with a business that has agreed, in writing, to fair sales practices and proper after-sales support.
- Clarity before you commit. You get a proper quote and contract you can actually understand, so you know what you’re paying for and what you’re getting.
- Somewhere to turn. If an issue ever comes up that we can’t resolve to your satisfaction, the code gives you a path to independent complaints bodies. You’re not on your own.
- Confidence in the long term. Solar and battery systems are a long-term investment. The code’s focus on warranties and ongoing service is about protecting that investment for years, not just closing a sale.
