Sigenergy SigenStor battery installation in Perth
Sigenergy Sigenstor in Perth
The SigenStor stores the solar you don’t use during the day, so you can run your home on it at night instead of buying power at peak rates.
It’s an all-in-one system: inverter, battery, energy management and optional EV charging in one stack. DMG Solar installs it from our Southern River base across metro Perth and WA.

What it is
A hybrid inverter (the “energy controller”) and stackable LFP battery modules in one unit, managed by Sigenergy’s AI app.
Module size
5 kWh and 8 kWh modules (newer 6 kWh and 10 kWh modules are being released), stacking to about 48 kWh.
Inverters we fit
Single phase and three phase energy controllers, sized to your home and switchboard.
Warranty
10 years on the battery and energy controller
Is SigenStor right for your home?
Is a SigenStor the right battery for you?
The Sigenergy SigenStor suits Perth homes that use most of their power after sunset. Its AI energy management stores your midday solar and runs your home on it through the 3pm–9pm peak, when grid power costs about 32c/kWh and exporting earns as little as 2c. It's also a strong choice if your solar inverter is ageing, because the SigenStor's Energy Controller is a hybrid inverter that can replace it and run your existing panels.
SigenStor is built to grow with you. Start with two 5 kWh or 8 kWh modules and add more later, up to about 48 kWh. You can also add the Sigen Gateway for millisecond blackout backup, or a 25 kW DC charger that charges your EV straight from your solar. If you only need a small, simple battery, we'll tell you honestly at your free assessment.

Five jobs, one stack
Most battery setups have a separate inverter, battery, EV charger and backup switch, each from a different brand. The SigenStor does all of these in one stacked system: solar inverter, battery storage, energy management, backup power and optional DC EV charging. It uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, the safe, long-life chemistry used by every major home battery brand.
AI that plans around the weather
SigenStor reads the weather forecast and learns how your household uses power. It decides when to charge, when to power your home and when to export, which matters more now that WA’s export rates are low.
Add modules later
Start with two modules and add more when you buy an EV or install a pool pump. You can mix module sizes in the same stack.
EV charging built in
The optional 25 kW DC charger module charges your car straight from solar and the battery. It’s bidirectional and ready for vehicle-to-home, so your car can power your house.
Why it suits Perth
Built for Perth’s heat, coast, winters and storms
Summer heat
Sigenergy rates the SigenStor to run in temperatures up to 55°C. It cools itself without fans, so there's nothing to clog with summer dust and nothing to hum.
Salt air
The whole SigenStor stack is IP66 rated, battery modules included, not just the inverter. It's sealed against dust and strong jets of water.
For homes near the coast, we still choose a sheltered spot out of the sea breeze wherever the house allows.
Winter evenings
From June to August, your panels make less power and evenings start earlier. Sigenergy's AI checks the weather forecast and plans charging ahead of cloudy days.
We size your stack to your overnight use, not your best summer day. Because SigenStor is modular, you only pay for the modules you need.
Storms & Blackout
Summer storms often knock power out in the Hills and outer suburbs. With the Sigen Gateway installed, your home switches to battery power in milliseconds.
Your panels keep recharging the battery during the day, so a long outage doesn't leave you in the dark.

What changes the cost
Rebates, loans and what WA pays for exports
Prices depend on your inverter, the number of modules and your switchboard, so we quote after a site check. These are the schemes that bring the cost down.
Cheaper Home Batteries Program
This upfront discount comes through STCs and is taken straight off your SigenStor quote. The first 14 kWh earns the full rate, the next 14 kWh earns 60%, and the next 22 kWh earns 15%.
A 2 × 8 kWh stack sits almost entirely in the full-rate band. The rate drops again on 1 January 2027 and is locked in on your install day.
WA Residential Battery Scheme
This comes on top of the federal discount. Synergy customers in Perth and the South West get up to $1,300. Regional Horizon Power customers get up to $3,800.
The catch is that you join your retailer's Virtual Power Plant for two years. SigenStor is VPP capable, and we confirm your setup qualifies before you sign.
No-Interest Battery Loan
Households earning under $210,000 can borrow $2,001 to $10,000 at 0% interest over up to 10 years, with no early repayment fees.
It can also cover new panels or an inverter upgrade installed with your SigenStor. The loan is run by Plenti, and as an approved installer we submit the application for you.
Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme
Synergy pays 10c/kWh for exports between 3pm and 9pm and only 2c/kWh at other times (from 1 July 2026, excluding GST). Buying power from the grid costs around 32c/kWh.
SigenStor's AI stores your midday solar instead of selling it for 2c. It powers your home in the evening, and any spare goes out during the 10c window.
Rebate and tariff details are correct at October 2026 and change over time. We confirm what applies to you on your quote.
Two ways to get a SigenStor
Already have solar, or starting from scratch? A SigenStor can be added to the panels you have, or installed as one complete system with new solar. We’ll check your roof, inverter and switchboard first and recommend the option that suits your home.
Battery only
Add a SigenStor to your existing solar
Already have panels? Keep them, and store the solar you're currently exporting for 2c to use at night instead.
- Works with your existing panels, replacing or sitting alongside your old inverter
- 2 or more battery modules sized to your evening use
- Federal and WA rebates applied upfront
- Fitted by our licensed local team
Solar + battery
New solar with a SigenStor
One system from day one, with panels, inverter and battery designed together and run from a single app.
- Solar panels sized to your roof and usage
- Sigen Energy Controller, a single or three phase hybrid inverter
- Optional Sigen Gateway for blackout backup
- Most installs done in one day
Frequently Asked Questions
The price depends on how many battery modules you choose, the size of the energy controller, whether you add the Sigen Gateway for backup, and your switchboard. We quote after a site check. The quote shows the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount and, for eligible Synergy customers, up to $1,300 more from the WA Residential Battery Scheme.
