Installed in Salter Point – 6152
Salter Point is a leafy riverside pocket where established homes sit among mature gardens, and this one is no exception, with a big canopy of trees brushing one edge of the roofline. The system that went in here is a large one by suburban standards, built so that the sun, rather than the grid, does most of the work for this household.
The System
A 14.72kW solar system of Jinko 475W panels feeds a 10kW Sigenergy SigenStor three phase controller, with 36.16kWh of battery storage stacked directly beneath it. SigenStor is Sigenergy’s modular all-in-one system: the controller manages the solar, the battery and the home’s energy flow from a single unit, and the battery modules stack underneath. On this install, four modules sit below the controller.

An array this size produces well beyond what most homes use through the middle of the day, and that’s the idea. With more than 36kWh to fill, the surplus has somewhere useful to go, and the house has a large reserve to draw on through the evening and overnight. As a three phase home, the 10kW three phase controller was the natural match for the supply.
The Install
Shehan Gunasinghe led the install. On the roof, the panels were laid out in two runs on the Colorbond, one long block and a second run on the adjoining section, positioned on the clearest part of the roof away from the trees along the boundary.

In the garage, the SigenStor stands on the tiled floor against the rendered wall, with the isolator mounted to its side, safety signage above and a steel bollard fixed to the floor in front. The status ring on the controller glowing green in the photos is exactly what you want to see at the end of install day.
