In a West Australian summer, few things are more important than a good air conditioner. But with electricity prices climbing, many households are stuck making a choice: stay cool or keep the power bill down.
What if you didn’t have to choose?
Run Your Air Conditioner Without a Second Thought – That’s the Power of Solar
Solar power works best during the peak of the day, right when the sun is beating down – and right when your air conditioning system is working hardest. That means your solar system can produce a steady stream of energy right when you need it most.
Instead of worrying about the cost of every extra hour of cooling, you can run your system with confidence, knowing your solar is picking up the load.
When the Sun’s Out, You’re Winning
Here’s the simple truth:
- Hot weather means more sun
- More sun means more solar generation
- More solar generation means more free energy
- And that free energy is perfect for powering your air conditioner
It’s a direct relationship. The brighter the day, the more power you’re generating – and the more you can use to stay comfortable. For many of our customers, this means they stop worrying about adjusting the thermostat and start enjoying their home again.
Practical Benefits That Add Up
Running your air conditioner on solar doesn’t just feel good – it makes sense:
- ✅ Lower Bills: Use the power you generate instead of buying it back from the grid
- ✅ More Comfort: Stay cool all day without guilt
- ✅ Smarter Energy Use: Use energy when it’s most available and cheapest — during the day
- ✅ Return on Investment: The more solar you use during the day, the faster your system pays itself off (well in comfort terms anyway!)
And if you pair your system with a solar battery, you can store that excess solar energy for use later – including in the evening for those hot summer nights.
Real-World Example
We recently installed a 13.2kW solar system in Lesmurdie. If the family runs their air conditioning every afternoon in summer – and thanks to their system’s size and smart design, they’re likely not paying a cent extra to stay cool.
In fact, based on their consumption and the system size their expected payback period is under 2.5 years.
That’s the kind of value a properly sized system can deliver.
Stop Sweating the Small Stuff
You shouldn’t have to choose between comfort and cost. With a solar setup designed for your home and your lifestyle, you can make the most of our climate – and stay in control of your power use.
