Look at the numbers on this Caversham job and one thing stands out. There’s 6.65kW of solar on the roof and 24.96kWh of battery in the garage, which is close to four kilowatt-hours of storage for every kilowatt of panels. That’s deliberate.

Why the Battery Is Bigger Than the Array

A modest 6.65kW solar system of 14 Trina Solar Vertex S+ panels still produces a good amount of energy on a clear Perth day. Without a battery, much of that goes back to the grid at a low feed-in rate while the house is quiet. With 24.96kWh of storage waiting to be filled, almost all of it can be kept and used later, when the household is home and would otherwise be buying power from the grid.

The inverter is a 10kW GoodWe ESA Series unit, which leaves room for more panels down the track if the household decides to add to the roof.

On Site

Wesley Wright led the install. The panels went up in two runs along a hip on the dark tiled roof, laid out to follow the roofline so they sit neatly from the street.

Inside, the GoodWe ESA is set into a brick corner of the garage, with three battery modules under the inverter, the isolator on the wall above, signage alongside and a steel bollard at the front. The ESA’s all-in-one design means one cabinet instead of a battery and a separate inverter, which keeps the garage uncluttered.

This isn’t our first Caversham job. An earlier Caversham installation paired 9.97kW of solar with 50kWh of storage, and just up the road there’s a similar system in Jane Brook.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. DMG Solar & Electrical did an amazing job installing my 50 kWh battery and solar panels today. The team was friendly, professional, and very patient, taking the time to explain everything clearly. They even cleaned my garage after the job!

The work was done efficiently, at a great price, and to a very high standard. I’ve already recommended them to a friend and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for quality solar and electrical work. Thank you team!
