50kWh AlphaESS Battery Installed in Woodvale

DMG Solar has just completed another large home battery upgrade in Woodvale, pairing a 50kWh AlphaESS battery bank with the homeowner’s existing rooftop solar array.

The owners already had solar generating well during the day, but most of that clean energy was being exported to the grid. By bolting on a serious chunk of battery storage, they can now store nearly all of their daytime production and use it through the evening and overnight peak.

For this build the team chose AlphaESS hardware. The cabinets are neatly aligned along an exterior brick wall under cover, with proper bollard protection and the safety signage required for a system of this size.

Sizing the storage to genuinely match a household’s daily consumption is the difference between a battery that occasionally helps and one that almost eliminates the evening grid bill. At 50kWh, this system gives the family plenty of headroom for high-load days and protection against rising tariffs.

The build was led by Carl, one of DMG Solar’s licensed electricians, with the full team handling the cabinet mounting, conductor runs, isolators, commissioning and monitoring setup in a single visit.
