50kWh AlphaESS Battery Installed in Harrisdale

We recently completed a high-capacity battery storage installation in Harrisdale, delivering a system that gives this household far greater control over how and when they use grid electricity.

The home is now equipped with a 50kWh DC coupled AlphaESS battery system, made up of three high-capacity battery cabinets installed neatly in the garage. The setup is designed to store solar production during the day, and discharge it through the evening peak when grid electricity is at its most expensive.

A DC coupled configuration means the solar panels and the battery share the same inverter, which keeps energy conversion losses to a minimum. More of the solar generated on the roof ends up usable inside the home, either powering loads in real time or being stored in the battery for later.

The 50kWh of usable storage gives the household enough capacity to run essential loads well into the night, and to ride through the evening peak without drawing from the grid. This is particularly valuable through a Western Australian summer, when air-conditioning use climbs and grid electricity is at its most expensive.
