In Swan View, we recently delivered a substantial battery upgrade designed to unlock more value from an existing solar system. This project involved the installation of a 40 kWh Growatt AC-coupled battery solution, providing the homeowner with greater control over energy usage and long-term cost stability.

Unlike DC-coupled configurations, an AC-coupled system integrates alongside the current solar inverter. This makes it an ideal solution for homes that already have a functioning solar setup and want to add storage without replacing existing hardware. The Growatt system works intelligently with the solar array, capturing surplus generation and storing it for later use.

With 40 kWh of available capacity, the property now has strong overnight coverage. Energy generated during the day is retained and used during the evening when grid electricity is typically more expensive. This significantly improves self-consumption and reduces reliance on exported energy that returns minimal financial benefit.

The Growatt hybrid platform manages energy flow in real time, directing power where it delivers the most value. Solar energy is used within the home first, then stored in the battery. When demand rises or solar output drops, stored power is discharged seamlessly.
